JUDGEMENT SEAT OF CHRIST

THE JUDGEMENT SEAT OF CHRIST!

I. A FACT:  2 Corinthians 5:10

For we must all appear before the Judgment Seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body,According to that HE

hath done, whether it be good or bad.

II. A MOTIVATION:  VS.11A,

“Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men...”

          A.     Daniel 12:2,3 “And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake,        some to everlasting life, and some to shame and

everlasting contempt.  3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

          B.      Jude 14,15 “And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, ‘Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,   15  To execute judgment        upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds

which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches

which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.’ ”

          C.  Rev. 20: 11  “And I saw a great white throne, and him thatsat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.  12  And  I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened and         another book was opened, which is"the book"of life and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.  13  And

these all gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them and they were judged every man according to their works.”

          D. Ecclesiastes 12:14  “For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret         thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”

          E. 1 Corinthians 3:12   “Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;  13  Every man‘s work shall be made manifest for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man‘s work of what sort it is.  14  If any man‘s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.  15  If any man‘s work shall be burned, he shall       suffer loss but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.”

          F. Hebrews 10:31  “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”

III.  AN INEVITABILITY

          A. Matthew 13:41  “The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of His Kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;  42  And shal last them into a furnace of fire there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”

          B. John 15:6  “If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.”

IV.    A SURPRISE

          A. The Five Foolish VirginsMatthew 25

                   1. They were virgins

                   2. They had lamps

                   3. They were waiting

                   4. They said, “Lord,”  “Lord”.

                   5. They could not enter in

                   6. They were told, “I know you not.”

          B. The Sheep and the Goats: Matthew 25

                   1. Both groups said, “Lord, when did we this to You?”

                   2. To both groups, Jesus said, “When you did it to the least of these brothers.” (or, those who are doing God‘s will.)

                   3. Both groups were eternally rewarded (or punished)

          C. The One Talent Man:  Matthew 25  

                   1. He had a talent

                   2. He had a relationship with the Master

                   3. He had a commission

                   4. He had maintained what He had been given

                   5. He had his talent taken away

                   6. He was called a wicked and lazy person

                   7. He was cast into outer darkness

                   8. He was exiled to a place of weeping and gnashing

          D. The Sons of the Kingdom: Matthew 8:12  “But the children of the Kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

V.  A PUNISHMENT   or,   VI.  A REWARD

VII. WHO SHALLBE SAVED: 

Lk.13:23a  “Then said one unto Him, ‘Lord, are there few that be saved?’ ”

          A. Matthew 19:29  “And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name‘s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, andshall inherit everlasting life.  (Luke 18:29 says,  “For the Kingdom of God’s sake.”

          B.  Galatians 6:8  “For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”

          C.  Matthew 24:13  “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”

         D. 1 John 23 & 17  “And hereby we do know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.  17  And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever,”
