Are You Teachable?

Memory Verses on

"TEACHABLE"

Ps 141:5  “Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head:”

Prov 9:8  “Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.  9  Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.”

Prov 27:5  “Open rebuke is better than secret love.  6  Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.”

Prov 27:11  “My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I may answer him that reproacheth me.  12  A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.”

Prov 27:17 “(As) Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.”

Prov 28:23  “He that rebuketh a man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.”

Prov 29:1  “He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.”

James 3:17  "But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy."

These following Scriptures equally apply to you, to me and to everyone.

Ps 141:5  “Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head:”

Prov 9:8  “Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee (I do not hate you.  I love you!): rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.  9  Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.”

Prov 27:5  “Open rebuke is better than secret love  (Joey loves me.).

Prov 27:17 “(As) Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.”  (Oh, to have this kind of friend.)

Prov 28:23  “He that rebuketh a man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.”

Prov 29:1  “He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.”

This is the kind of friendship I deeply value:  Iron on iron.  No hidden agenda.  Face to face.  If you and I are wise, we will love these verses, and we will love the practical out-working of them.
