"SUPPRESSION, SUBORDINATION, SUBMISSION & INTIMIDATION"

(FOR HUSBANDS ONLY)

We had a friend once, who's husband demanded

that his wife be submissive to his command that she

participate in sexual immorality with others. Let me

ask you a question. The Bible says, "Wives, submit

yourselves to your own husbands, as unto the Lord."

and "Therefore as the Church is subject unto Christ,

so let the wives be to their own husbands in

everything." Do you think that she should have

submitted to her husband in this? What does the Bible

say?

What about this question of submission and

authority?

In contrast to this, we have the women's liberation

movement, demanding increased rights for women.

Sometimes, the pendulum has swung too far the other

way. One time a man I know asked his Christian

mother, "Mom, if Dad asked you to do something that

you didn't want to do, what would you do?" She

joyfully replied, "Why, I'd tell him to go jump in the

lake!"
